He was predeceased by: his wife Iva Varey of Little Current; his parents, Frederick Harold Cowan and Alice Ellen Penfold; and his sister Alwyn Hayward. He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Weir and Kimberly; his son-in-law Ralph Evans; his grandchildren, Stephen Dvernychuk (Heather), David Dvernychuk and Rebecca Higginson-Rollins (Jason Davis); and his great grandchildren, Montana and Samantha Dvernychuk. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and friends.
