He was predeceased by: his child Claire Louise Keane; his parents, Joan Irene Spurrell and Henry Samuel Hooker; and his siblings, Brian (late Irene), William "Bill" (Avril) and Ann Yvonne (late George).

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Hooker; his children, Annette Austin-Smith (Alan), Ian Henry (Rachel Jane), Jordyn Rachel and Devon Ruth; his grandsons, Nathan Austin-Smith, Seth Hooker and Blake Hooker; and his brothers, John (late Joan) and Alan. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, friends.
