“I met Peter and a bunch of guys at the Aurora Family Leisure Centre many years ago. It turned into a friendship where we would all get together over a beer either at a pub or someone’s home, to discuss politics, art, news events…whatever took our fancy. We also enjoyed some time kayaking together. We will all miss his humor, good conversation on so many topics and his restaurant recommendations. My condolences and sympathies to the family. “Peter was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Aurora. We met in the gym, the pool and at the Boys Beer Night where a group of us discussed politics, beer, sports, current events. He gave no quarter in arguing and had a left leaning bias but his points were clear and fair. Peter lived life and loved eating. His list of recommended eating spots was legion. Most were good, some questionable, but all, like Peter, were an experience. My condolences on your loss. Peter Townsend.”
