He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Mackintosh and Gwendolyn Mackintosh of New Zealand; his wife Helen; his children, Leslie (Scott), Evan (Lucia) and Blair (Danielle); and his grandchildren, Scarlett, Lyla, Gwendolyn, Esmee and Lindsey.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Centenary Hospital.
