The memory of Amy Yano (Scarborough, Ontario), who passed away on July 7, 2024 at the age of 95, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. As Amy departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Amy may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Amy leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband George Yano; and her siblings, Sam Kondo (Marge), Haru Kondo and Mitsy Miura (Tad). She is survived by: her daughters, Joanne Yano (Steve Papanastasiou) and Diane Yano (Scott McDonell); her grandchildren, Jamie and Johnny; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Matsui and Josie Yoshioka. She is also survived by nephews, their families and many friends.
Those wishing to honour Amy's memory are invited to make donations to Momiji Healthcare Society or the Japanese Canadian Culture Centre, in lieu of flowers or koden.
