He was predeceased by: his wife Doreen Bird; his children, Mary Ellen Leeson (Morris), Fredrick Tubman (Alma), William Tubman (Rhonda) and Kevin Bird (Laurie); his parents, Alfred Bird (Cap) and Viola Bird; and his siblings, Eileen (Merlin), Jean Rayner (Harry), June MacDonald (Jack) and Merlyn Bird (Edith) of Thessalon, Ontario..
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Billy Leeson (Nancy), Kathy Allen-Leighton (Neil) of Simcoe, Tracy Allen-Brandt (Gerald) of Hilton, Alberta, Sonia Valade of Sudbury, Stephanie Allen-Pelletier (Mark) of Castlegar, B. C., Freddy Tubman of Thessalon, Jennifer Farrell (Chris), Tashia Farrell of Sault Ste, Marie, Jamie Tubman (Janelle) of Marathon, Jason Bird of Sault Ste, Storm Jensen (Shaun), Rita Jensen (Dave), Ann Jensen of Blind River, Krystal Bird (Frank), Kyle Bird, Tyler Newman (Angela), Tim Bird (Mitzie), Shirley-Anne Lowe (Dan) and Candida Reid; and his nieces and nephews, Bonnie Asam, Shirley Brule, Bonnie Stone, Bill Rayner, Don Rayner (Sheila) and Robert Rayner (Carol).
