Stella Stamatia Sassos Obituary

SASSOS, Stella Stamatia - Peacefully surrounded by family, at the Sault Area Hospital with her beloved daughter by her side, on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the age of 89.

Beloved wife of the late Ioannis Sassos. Loving mother of Maria Sassos. Predeceased by her parents Giorgos and Maria Zanettos and her brother Stergos. Dear sister of Harriet Papageorgiou (late Giorgos) and Effie Antonas (Tony). Special aunt of Maria Vahrusev (Boris) and Milton Papageorgiou (Carol) from Canada and Anthitsa and Giorgos Zanettos, Antonis Sassos (Alexandra) and Maria Sassou (Manoli), from Greece. Also survived by several nieces and nephews in Greece. Cherished great aunt of Nikolas Vahrusev.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church (293 St. Georges Ave., East) on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10 am. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Sault Ste. Marie MI. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to Sault Area Hospital Foundation or to the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
