She was predeceased by: her parents, Jean Opala and Joe Opala; and her godmother Stella Ciceri. She is survived by: her daughter Meggie Opala (Lucas Virtanen); her siblings, Tanya Lee (Tim), Fran Scheepmaker (John), Mike Opala (Lisa), Jay Opala and Rodney Opala (Gail); and her nieces, Emma Lee and Jenny Lee. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
