She was predeceased by: her son Karl Fitzpatrick; her parents, Howard Smith and Ethel Smith; and her siblings, Jean Guenther (late Bill), Cathy Austin (late Tom), John Smith and Ed Smith (Carol).

She is survived by: her husband James Fitzpatrick; her children, Louis Derrer (Sheilah), Lisa Derrer and Moira Game (Richard); her grandchildren, Hannah Derrer (David), Graham Derrer, Charlie Nixon (Jessica), Zack Mersereau and Adam Mersereau (Angela); her great grandchildren, Ivy and Eli; and her siblings-in-law, Marion Nanni (late Alphonse) and Catherine Hewson (Zeke).
