He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maria Tromp and Jan van Bakel; his siblings, Cory Zwart (Henk), John van Bakel (Joanne) and Theresa van Bakel; his wife Kathleen; his children, Daniel van Bakel Jr. (Susan), Yolanda Renner (Steven), Derek van Bakel (Sandra) and David; his brother-in-law David Ramsay (Susan); his grandchildren, Jessica Kristensen (Chris), Jordan Renner, Ashley van Bakel, Tyler Renner (Laura), Natasha Renner (Cody), Jessica van Bakel (Scott), Kyle van Bakel and Dylan Vincent; and his great grandchildren, Brielle, Lillith, Scarlett, Jordyn and Cameron.
