He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Ronald of Cookstown and Chris of Cookstown; his stepchildren, Micheal Jones of Garden River and Charlene Jones of Garden River; his parents, Lewis Sweet and Stella Sweet; and his siblings, Lawrence Sweet, Alex Sweet (Philomene), Betty Gagnon, Carol Marin, Mervyn and Shirley. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
