He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Dirstein and John Dirstein; and his sister Marie Beckberger (Dennis). He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, David Dirstein (Jackie) of Kitchener and Nancy Beaumont of Vernon, BC.; his grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Jacqueline and Madeline; and his siblings, Donald Dirstein (Janet) of Ajax, Shirley Schwartz (Jim) of Grand Ledge, MI and Jackie Penfold (Allan) of Hanover.
