He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thiessen and Anna Thiessen; his sister Myrtle; and his brother-in-law Murray Blacklock. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Stephanie Franke (Jurgen) and Lorette C. Luzajic; his friends, Moshe Sakal and Erika Wheeler; his grandchildren, David Franke, Matthew Franke and Kendra Franke; his stepchildren, Roger Hughes (Diana) and Sarah Hughes; his friend Sean Bremner; his stepgrandchildren, Gavin Hughes, Carter Hughes and Bryn DesJardine; his friend Brian Davies; his siblings, Mel Thiessen (Helen), Eunice Blacklock, Barry Thiessen (Ferne) and Dennis Thiessen; his friend Joyce Persall; and also, Rob Thiessen, Robert Blake (Joanne) and Judith Ewald (Dave). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special cousins.
