He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria; his parents, Howard MacKay and Matilda MacKay (Tillie); and his siblings, Gordon, Vera, Laura and Barbara.

He is survived by: his sons, David (Maureen) and Scott; and his granddaughter Stacey.
