She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Chalmers and Meredith Chalmers; and her siblings, Linda Taylor and Robert Chalmers. She is survived by: her husband Douglas Gilbert; her children, Ruth-Ann Lumley (Harvey), Kevin Lumley, Shawn Lumley (Theresa), Jillian Lumley, Crystal Gilbert (Ross) and Rebecca Sanford (Chris); her brother-in-law Don Gilbert; and her son Charles Gilbert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to the Inn of the Good Shepherd in honor of her years of dedication and service to others.
