Tom Cooper Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tom Cooper (Saint-Thomas, Ontario), who passed away on April 23, 2018, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Tom Cooper to pay them a last tribute.
Dad", "Pops", "Grandpa" would likely have had a Blast, laughing, writing his own obituary, because of illness, he's been a Man of few words these last few years, but we remember fondly his ability to keep his friends and family chuckling. We lost his amazing grin and his ability, even without words, to make us smile, on Monday April 23, 2018. Tom spent his working life as a Boring Mill Operator and Quality Control Inspector, but his real joys were his family, having coffee with "the boys" and sitting on his front porch supervising the neighbourhood. We're sure Tom's grinning down on us all now, sitting on his scooter, with a beer in one hand and snitching someone's fries with the other. We're so grateful his struggles here are over, but he'll be missed greatly by his wife Jean, daughters Laurie (Nancy), Jenny, and Lisa (Mike), his stepchildren, Sandra (Rick), Scott (Cindy), Grandchildren, Emma, Stevie, Lucas, Andrea, Richard, Ryan, Paul and Gregory. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Ann (Williams) Cooper and by sisters Muriel, Betty, Nettie, Ila and two grandsons Michael and Thomas. Survived by one sister Nellie. Funeral service will be held at WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date in Cultus Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7- 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the telling of a good "Tom joke" would be appreciated, or donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A very grateful thank you to the Staff at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas, to Dr. S. McIntosh, who took such excellent care of Tom, treating him as one of their own. Thank you is simply not enough. We know you didn't get to know the "real" Tom prior to his illness, but we can't begin to express our Gratitude for the Care and Compassion shown to all of us in his time with you. You are every one So appreciated. Born Feb. 22, 1946, Tom Cooper, the Man, the Myth, the Legend, went on to Heaven on Monday April 23rd, 2018 on his 30th anniversary to his lovely wife Jean.
