She was predeceased by: her spouse Robert Keith Surgent; her sibling John "Sonny" Groves; and her parent John "Jack". She is survived by: her children, Debra Johnston (Art) of St. Thomas, Ken Surgent (Denise) of St. Thomas and Jim Surgent (late Connie) of St. Thomas; her grandchildren, Amy Johnston, Chris Johnston, Paul Surgent, Shay, Cain, Jason and Dave Surgent; her great grandchildren, Paige, Jason, Ryley, Harper and Josie; her sibling Mary Mifflin; her cousin Molly Whitchurch; and her parent Alexina "Elsie" Groves (Thompson).
