Robert F. Gracey Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert F. Gracey, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 2, 2019, in Elgin General Hospital at the age of 85. Born in London, Ontario May 29, 1933 and resided in St Thomas, Ontario. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and a long standing active member of the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus as past Grand Knight, past Navigator and former District Deputy. He was a retiree of Canada Post and worked most of his working years in the transportation industry. His past interests included curling and golf. He was an active volunteer in the community.
He is predeceaed by his parents, Frederick and Audrey Gracey (Tinlin), his wife of 50 years Marjorie (Thornton), his botherJohn Gracey, half sisters Virginia and Mary Lou and son James Gracey. He is survived by his wife Marylyn Gracey (Rooney), children Stephen Gracey (Linda), Angela Legacy (Marcel), Robert Gracey (Joyce), daughter in law Kelly. Step son Christopher (Lynette). Grandchildren Brooke, Jason, Andrew, Matthew, Kellen, Julia, Jacqueline, Zachary and Brennan; great grand children Alex, Kaleb, Josiah and Luka. He is also survived by siblings Joanne Hart (Jim), William Gracey and Frederick Gracey (Julie). He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home and then to St Anne’s Parish where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 8 at 10 am. Cremation to follow with private interiment of ashes in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday April 7 from 2-5 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the chairity of one’s choice.
