He was predeceased by: his spouse Melanka "Molly" Bugiel (Sofienko); his sister Helga; and his parents, Paul Bugiel and Anna Bugiel. He is survived by: his children, Carina Bugiel, Patrick Bugiel (Denise), Paul Bugiel (Lana) and Perry Bugiel; his grandchildren, Lindsay (Terry) and Eric (Michelle); and his siblings, Raphaele Bugiel and Hilde. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
