He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paula Schlueter (Doty) and Peter Vandixhoorn (Gwen Hammons); his siblings, Lyndsay (Jon), Lauren "Lo", Michael, Britni, Amy (Stephen) and Kelly (Jake); and his grandparents, Mary Abra (late Paul Evan Doty) and Andy Vandixhoorn (late Ann).

He was able to give the gift of life to others through organ donation.
