He was predeceased by: his spouse Jean Brokenshire; his son William Brokenshire; his brothers, Robert Brokenshire (late Lila) and Stanley Brokenshire (Diane); and his parents, Norman Brokenshire and Curlista "Tick" Brokenshire.

He is survived by: his children, Lois and Jim Hamilton; his daughter-in-law Pat Baker; and his brother-in-law William Wallis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
