She was predeceased by: her husband Clarence Smith; her children, Marilyn Braney (Michael) of London and Jim Smith; her siblings, Janny Spiele (late Bert) and Jos Spiele (late Benno); and her parents, Herman Spiele and Hermina Spiele.

She is survived by: her children, Dan Smith (Peggy) of St. Thomas and Linda Purcell (David) of Terrace, B. C; her grandchildren, Rebecca Smith Rammeloo (Dave), Colin Braney, Sean Braney (Danielle), Taylor Purcell (Linnea) and Luke Purcell (Corey); and her great grandchildren, Jack Braney, Renja Purcell, Lennon Purcell and Mackenzie Rammeloo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
