He was predeceased by: his spouse Beverly Speers (Jamieson); his children, Karen Lautebach (late Rob) and Kenneth Speers; and his parents, Joe Speers and Evelyn Speers (Campbell).

He is survived by: his children, Robyne Speers (Tom), Mary Ellen Speers, Patti Speers (Will), Joe Speers, Jerry Speers (Maryanne), Sheldon Speers (Pam), Colin Speers (Lisa), Cliff Speers (Kelly), Deb Moore (Duke), Mark Rickwood, Grant Rickwood (Kathy), Sandy Rickwood and Liana Smith (late Shawn). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
