He was predeceased by: his wife Dorene; and his brother Jerry Shaw. He is survived by: his brother Mike Shaw (Kay); his children, George (Heather), Geof (Michelle) and Greg (Sherri); his grandchildren, Cody (Candice), Kelsey (Brandon), Aryn (Rachel), Alex (Mike), Amber (Brian), Wesley and Bryan; his great grandchildren, Kinsley Shaw, Lucy Shaw, Charlye Lilley, Declan Lilley and Carson Maynard; his brother-in-law Don Richardson (Midge) of Barrie; his nieces and nephews, Scott Shaw (Annette), Stacy Shaw, Wayne Richardson and Wendy Northwyk; and his cousins, Doreen and Mike Nielson.
