He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Teetzel and Pat Teetzel (Guthro); his brother Ron Teetzel; and his mother-in-law Magdalena Ardelean. He is survived by: his wife Josie Teetzel; his son Jeffrey Teetzel (Anna); his grandsons, Alexander and Matthew Teetzel; his siblings, Jim Teetzel (Dianne) and Mary Larson; his siblings-in-law, Gerald Haumann (Barb) and Kathy Kiss (Joe); and his cousin Gary Teetzel (Donna).
