He was predeceased by: his spouse Margaret "Wilma" Mitchell; his brothers, Lawrence Mitchell, Ken Mitchell and Jim Mitchell; and his parent Lloyd Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Whitney (Gerry) of St. Thomas and Vicki Drimmie (Gord) of London; his siblings, Maxine McEwan, Gord Mitchell (Audrey), Elgin Mitchell and Helen Dosser; his parent Ida Mitchell; and also, Becky and Jeff. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
