She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Melkert; her son Don Skellet; and her siblings, Gerardus Johannes, Hendrikus Johannes, Hermannus Gerhardus, Harry Johannes, Albertus Johannes, Maria Johannes and Gerarda Alieda.

She is survived by: her children, Frank (Diane), Allan (late Gloria) and Jennifer (Jeremy Ramsey); and her sister Martha Catherina of Deventer, Netherlands.. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren that mom.
