He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cairncross and Margaret Cairncross; his sister Nancy Thomas; and his brother-in-law Donald Pittaway. He is survived by: his wife Beth Cairncross; his children, Anne Hiddink (Alex), Linda Cairncross (Don Frizell), Heather Dryfhout (David) and David Cairncross (Colleen); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Ellen, Samuel Gray, Luke Basler (Britianey), Bethany Basler, Matthew Basler, Jessica and Rachael Dryfhout; his great grandchildren, Rory, Hannah, Hailey and Landon; and his siblings, Jim Cairncross (Roxy) and Sally Baker (Brian). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
