He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Mair and Janet Mair. He is survived by: his children, Anne Ahl (David) of Montréal, QC and Robin Mair (Karen) of Angus; and his grandchildren, Sean of Angus, Nicholas of Angus and Taylor Mair of Angus. He is also survived by several in-laws in Québec, and many nieces, nephews.
