He was predeceased by: his siblings, Red (Jinet) and Linda Watchorn. He is survived by: his children, Stephen (Monica) and Gary (Terry); his grandchildren, Liam, Olivia, Samantha, Kimberly, Janessa (Dennis), Sarah (Josh) and Lindsay (Kurtis); his great grandchildren, Carson, Lily and Mason; and his siblings, Harvey Paleczny (Nancy) and Joan Paleczny. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
