It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Gerald Bontaine in Saint-Marys, Ontario, who passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack C. Bontaine and Olive Bontaine (Hyndman); his spouse Marion Bontaine (Schmitt); his children, Robin Bontaine and Shawn Bontaine (Eva); his grandchildren, Shawn Bontaine (Alicia), Ryan Bontaine and Scott Bontaine (Chantelle Oliveira); his great grandchildren, Kayden Bontaine, Kinsley Bontaine, Stacy Rodger and Miles Bontaine; and his sister Linda Isotamm.
He is survived by: his brother Jack Bontaine (Carol); and his brother-in-law Tom Isotamm (Norma). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home (291 Huron St, New Hamburg, ON N3A1K2). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to the Diabetes Association or Alzheimer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
