He was predeceased by: his spouse Hazel Bennewies; his parents, William Bennewies and Freda Bennewies; his grandsons, Kristopher Bennewies and Jamie Horan; his siblings, Ellen Schellenberger (Alvin), Vera Pehlke-Lindner, Lloyd, Roy, Harvey (Gertie) and Fred Bennewies; and his siblings-in-law, Nelson Jutzi, David Jutzi (Freda), Stanley Jutzi, John Jutzi, Allister Cook, Ernie Brimblecombe, Vern Spieran and Grace Brimblecombe (Kerry).
He is survived by: his children, Dale Bennewies (Debby) and Robert Bennewies (Betty); his grandchildren, Amy Lejcar (Peter), Ashley Kroonen (Jeff), Nathan Bennewies (Shannon), Daryl Bennewies (Kristen), Denny Horan (Joanne), Jeff Horan (Loree) and Krista Glover (Joey); his great grandchildren, Abigail, Violet Lejcar, Luke, Clara, Ella Kroonen, Hailey, Logan Bennewies, Taya, Jessie, Kinslee Horan, Jamie and Paislee Glover; his close friend Vera Ahrens; and his siblings-in-law, Selina Jutzi, Elva Jutzi, Helen Cook, Marjorie Brimblecombe, Lois Spieran and Shirley Jutzi.
