He was predeceased by: his parents, Brian Downey and Mildred Downey. He is survived by: his siblings, Dorothy (Cam), Jimmy (late Toni) and Elizabeth (Bryan); his nieces and nephews, John Paul, Matthew and Michael; his great-nieces and great-nephews, John Paul, Kaylee, Serenity and Aubree; and his cousin Lori.
