He was predeceased by: his parents, Hector Laplante and Ruth Laplante; his daughter Melissa Laplante (Chad); his brother Clarence Laplante; and the mother of his children Lucette Savage.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Laplante and Joey Laplante (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Alexandra O'Connor (Caleb) and Alton Laplante; his siblings, Claire Mijatovic (Joe), Debbie Glenn and Holley Menard (Denis); and his fur-buddy Eddie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bonfield Community Centre. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy, as they were near and dear to Doug's heart.
