She was predeceased by: her parents, Stan Root and Annie Root; and her siblings, Doug (Ruth), Shirley (Eric) and Gale (John).
She is survived by: her husband Bill Murphy; her children, Brian (Jaquie), Laurie (Kevin), Deanna (Andy) and Matt (Dawn); and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie (Matt), Dan (Missy), Rachel (Adam), Claudia (Gavin), Morgan, Becky, Connor, Cameron, Keira and Quinn.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bladder Cancer Canada or Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
