She was predeceased by: her parents, Art Smith and Jane Smith; and her grandparents, Norman and Sarah Marsden. She is survived by: her children, Patrick (Cheryl), John (Laura), Sherry (Philip) and Mark (Chantal); her grandchildren, Mike (Simone), Melissa (Justin), Cory (Sydney), Krista (Rick), Sierra (Meir), Chance (Rickellie), Skye, Joshua (Grace), Jeremy (Logan), Caden (Natalie) and Emma; and her siblings, Elgie, Roberta and Morris. She is also survived by numerous cousins, relations, and friends.
Carol's family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to all those who have been involved and helping to care for the Sacred Fire, to all those within the community who have generously donated food, and to all who have expressed their sympathies, as well as Alderville First Nation for the space to honour her.
