He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Elizabeth and Mary Elizabeth; and his brother Gerald. He is survived by: his wife Vera; his brothers, Desmond (late Jeanette) and Patrick (Evelyn); and his siblings-in-law, Romana Dolcetti (Aldo), Flavia Silano (Giulio), Paul Zucchi (Shelley) and John Zucchi (Cecilia). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

“I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how special a friend Don was to me. He was a mentor while we both taught at Msgr. Johnson. Even after he retired I would call him to ask for advice. He was respected by students and teachers. I would often try to emulate Don in my teaching. At staff meetings when Don spoke everyone listened. For me he was a voice of reason and calmness. I will miss his friendship, wisdom, humor and lists of things to do. I will always keep Don in my heart.”
