“... Sadly my memory fails, so I won't embarrass myself by quoting the wrong one! One of my favorite memories that he shared with me was that his Dad took him as a 12-year-old to the 1948 FA Cup Final at Wembley in London, which my team won (though 3 years before I was born). My sincere condolences to his family.”

“I was saddened to see Bud's name in the In Memoriam section of the ACBL Bridge Bulletin just now. I only met Bud in the last few years at the bridge table in Thornhill. His was a face that I looked forward to seeing each week, though sadly not since COVID struck. He was a true gentleman, and I always enjoyed our brief chats when the progression took us to his table for 20 minutes in a session. We shared a love of soccer, in which Bud's team was one of the Turkish giants ...”
