Ronald George Deshane Obituary
Peacefully at Renfrew Victoria Hospital on July 27, 2024 surrounded by the love of family. A gentleman predeceased by his first love Dorothy and their daughter Marlene.
Left to mourn his loss are sons Steve (Dorothy) and Joe (Christine), and daughter Jessica (Jamieson). Ron was an immensely proud Grampa and Great-Grampa, and the brother of Lillian (late Bernard), Arnold (Nancy), Irene (Lloyd), and the late Jack (Noma), Marilyn (Mike) and Anna (Donald).
Ron will be remembered as a respected operator, trainer and regional manager of heavy equipment operations with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service. Ron's heartfelt care and respect for our environment was demonstrated through contributions to the Renfrew County Stewardship Council, the Renfrew County Envirothon, Shaw Woods and being a longtime member of the Ontario Fur Managers Federation and the Renfrew Fur Council. He documented his own conservation work in a proudly self-authored book entitled 'Nature Needs a Helping Hand' in 2023.
Thank you to Don Lewis for being his steadfast best friend, always alongside him at the 'Forgotten Lots'.
We would also like to thank Dr. Max Buxton, Dr. Sarah Penney, Ron's long-time oncologist Dr. Michael Ong, Nurse Tania Park, and the Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) staff for their extremely dedicated and compassionate care. Ron's final arrangements have been entrusted to Goulet Funeral Home in Renfrew, where visitation will be held on Thursday August 1, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. A private family. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Ron may be made to RVH or Ducks Unlimited Canada.
