He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey; his siblings, Joan and Jery; and his siblings-in-law, Gertrude McMahon, Anna Bruce and Ronnie Hiderman.

He is survived by: his sons, Randy (Jennifer), John Jr. and Clayton; his grandchildren, Brandon (Caitlyn), Bradley (Kendal), Rachel and Owen; his sibling Jean (late Wes Tolton); and his siblings-in-law, Lee Youmans, Murray Hiderman (Angie), Betty Hiderman, Elaine (Mervin Varrin), Terry Hiderman (Donna), Joseph McMahon and Raymond Bruce. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, all of his friends.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Dialysis Unit or the Kidney Foundation.
