He is survived by: his wife Alison Trow; his son Alexander Earl Middleton; his sisters, Margaret Cahan and Alice Middleton; his siblings-in-law, Craig Cahan, Nancy Polhill (Trow) and Tom Polhill; and his nieces and nephews, Grant (Kathleen), Megan (Steve), Leanne and Joel.
