He was predeceased by: his siblings, Wayne (Linda) of Oakwood and Shelley Mahaffy; and his parents, Lloyd Mahaffy and Audrey Mahaffy. He is survived by: his wife Janice Barber of Lindsay; his daughter Natalie Mahaffy (Chris Belonzo) of Oshawa; his grandchild Farren; his stepsons, Tim Skam and Richard Skam; his stepgrandchildren, Fiona Skam and Jackson Skam; his siblings, Bill (Lynda) of Manilla and Sharon (Don Fee) of Blackstock; and also Valerie Ewen. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, and his many friends.
