He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Margaret; his sister Joanne; and his brother-in-law Paul Cheeseman. He is survived by: his wife Sandy (Cheeseman); his children, Ryan (Tania Gonsalves) and Cody (Richard McMaster); his grandson Liam; his sister Tracey (Malcolm Macaulay); his siblings-in-law, Sue and John; his nephew Shane (Margot); his nieces, Erin (Jeremy) and Lindsey; and his great-niece Madi. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
