He was predeceased by: his son Bill Matiyek; his sister Ann; and his sisters-in-law, Marie Pierce and Lorraine Fox (late Bill Fox). He is survived by: his children, Gordon Matiyek (Ruth), Margaret (Brian Wice), Marlene Matiyek, Mitchell Matiyek (Brenda), Debbie (Paul Clark) and Michael Matiyek (Laurie); his grandchildren, Paul Matiyek, Donna Schaefer, William, Jason, Brian Jr. Wice, Nicole, Shane Hamilton, Stephanie Blair, Matthew Matiyek, Bill, John Clark, Brittany, Shawn and Kerri Matiyek; his siblings, Katherine, Bill, Mary, Sophie and Nettie; and his siblings-in-law, Forrest Rowden (late Cindy) and Jean Riley (late Al). He is also survived by his many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, those wishing to attend the visitation are required to call and register for a reserved time with the funeral home between 8 am and 4 pm at 905-885-5611.
