She was predeceased by: her husband Harold MacDonald; her daughter Sandra; her sister Lynne Wonnacott; and her siblings-in-law, Lorne (Marina), Helen (Floyd) and Marilyn (John).
She is survived by: her children, David (Wanda), Dean (Deb), Sue Throop (Andy), Doug (Victoria) and Scott (Laura); her grandchildren, Jenn, Jason, Jessica, Kate, Richele, David, Jake, Brett, Casandra, Alex, Emily, Conrad and Cohen; her great grandchildren, Layne, Taylor, Velouria, Ethan, Ryleigh, Zaiden, Jack, Myla, Nick, Grayson, Madison, Elena, Maxwell, Sawyer and Evelyn; her great great grandchild Asher; her sister Dianne Cushing; and her sisters-in-law, Linda (Woody) and June (Leonard).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Allison Funeral Home (103 Mill St N, Port Hope, ON L1A2T3). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made by cheque in Joan's memory to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice.
