He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank McHugh and Agnes McHugh; his brothers, James and Gordon; his siblings-in-law, Paul and Christine; his son-in-law Greg Twomey; his granddaughter Libby; his nephews, Billy, Peter and Joshua; and his parents-in-law, Innocenzo, Anna DiPisa, Francesca Riggi and Filippo D'Angelo.

He is survived by: his wife Toni; his children, Lisa Twomey, Brian (Lisa) and Patrick (Peggy); his grandchildren, Annalise, Rosemary, Molly, Gracie, Brian, Jonny and Oliver; his sister Patricia Fretz; and his sister-in-law Mary Jane McHugh.
