She was predeceased by: her husband Stewart "Nort" Bates; her parents, Robert McKay and Alice McKay; and her siblings, David McKay (Joan), Russell, Jean Noble (Cliff), Hugh (Glenna), Cameron and Gordon.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Adams (Murray) of Meaford, Margie and Rick Bates of Port Elgin; her grandchildren, Randy, Brad, Kyle Adams and Calla Bates; her great grandchild Riley Adams; and her brother Arnold McKay (Shirley).
