He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick and Elizabeth; his daughter Nancy; and his sister Marian. He is survived by: his wife Alice Ellis; his daughter Barbara Erdman (Wayne); his granddaughter Sarah Erdman (Dan Petker); and his great grandchild Alex.
