He was predeceased by: his grandson Tristan Droesch; and his brother Rolf Buechler. He is survived by: his wife Christiane Helene Alice Buechler; his children, Stephan Kurt Buechler and Andrea Elisabeth Droesch-Buechler; and his grandchildren, Matthew Aaron Buechler, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Buechler and Klailia Droesch.
