With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Smelser of Port Dover, Ontario, who passed away on April 16, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ron (Sandra), Don (Elspeth), Leroy and Fred (Brian). He is survived by: his children, Diane Xurieb, John Gushie, Patty Smelser, Paul, Kathy Smelser, Sandra, Hal Brown and Terry Smelser; his grandchildren, Clint (Cheryl), Jenny (Randy), Tara (Jesse), Brandie (Colin), Kristal (Paul), Josh (Meredith), Kaela (Jen), Melissa (Mark), Ashley (Trevor), Brennan (Lyndsay), Jeremy, Alesha and Rylin; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Hunter, Hannah, Riley, Alison, Kaylee, Blake, Gavin, Emily, Amber, Colton, Carter, Scarlett, Nolan, Charlotte, Addison, Noah, Bentley and Hailey; and his siblings, Audrey, Kay (Elgin Mitchell), Peggy (Neil Pankhurst) and Marcia Smelser. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
